HYWELA LYN

Romance that's 'out of this world'

For as long as I can remember, I have enjoyed reading  and writing Westerns, Science Fiction/Fantasy and Adventure stories - always with a strong romantic element.   I have published several short stories, including  a Western romance about Wyatt Earp', which was short listed in the Lady Short Story competition and subsequently published in that magazine.    I  was also shortlisted for a 'Writers News' short story contest.

Although most of my stories tend to be futuristic, the worlds I create are usually untainted by crowded cities and technology, embracing the beauty and wildness of nature.  My characters often have to fight the elements and the terrain itself.  My heroes are strong and courageous, but chivalrous and honourable - and of course, handsome and hunky.  My heroines are also strong and courageous, but retain their femininity and charm. My tales are set in other times and worlds, but one thing remains constant.  The power of love.  Love, not only between my hero and heroine, but between friends and siblings, and for their home and the creatures that share it.

My first novel, 'Starquest', a futuristic romance was released on 29th August.  The sequel, 'Children of the Mist'  is contracted with the same publisher and I my novella about the Greek Muse, Terpsichore is available now.  You'll find more information about that on my 'Song of the Muses' page.

I love all animals, especially horses and enjoy Western riding.   I live with my long suffering husband, Dave, in a small village in England although I hope eventually to return to my native rural WalesI have two horses, two ferrel cats and  an adopted Jack Russell terrier called Bouncer.  I usually manage to sneak some sort of horse or unicorn into my stories.  (Oh, and in case you're wondering, 'Hywela' is Welsh and is my first name.  Since I've always been called by my second name, Lyn, I thought I'd combine the two and use Hywela Lyn as my pen name.)
